“There is pleasure in the pathless woods, there is rapture in the lonely shore, there is society where none intrudes, by the deep sea, and music in its roar; I love not Man the less, but Nature more.” ~George Byron
My surroundings~the pathless woods.
Never more beautiful than in fall…

So very beautiful! π
Thank you, my dear friend. Life has been so crazy lately, I’ve been a terrible blogger friend. I intend to get over to your farm and see what you’ve been up to! I apologize for my absence.
Looking forward to you visiting the farm! Always time for a friend! π
I enjoyed your photos! I had no idea Xandre was getting married until I caught up with your posts.
What exciting news…and also bittersweet for you, my friend. I’ll be thinking of you this next week, and looking forward to wedding photos! And new babies on the farm! Your photography is just wonderful as always!
Thank you Judy! Yes, indeed bittersweet… But that’s life! Thank you for your thoughts, and thank you for your kind compliment! π
You’re welcome, zelmare. Enjoy the festivities!
Great interpretation for a beautiful surroundings Judy ,
Thanks for sharing my friend π

Beautiful captures Judy! Fall is my favorite time of year. Glad to see you got out and enjoyed it. Really like the changes you made to your space here. Looks very spiffy. Margie
Thanks, Margie! So glad you came to visit! π
Beautiful autumn colours Judy and a great quotation.
Thanks Jim! I do love fall…and now it’s gone. We even had a dusting of snow yesterday! Today I took some shots with a new macro lens (Nikon 105, we bought from our son). There are a few Japanese Maple leaves, faded to pink, fallen on the ground, or clinging to the tree. And the oak, who loves to hang on to his leaves, has beautiful red-orage ones…so I did get a couple shots. I also love the bare branches of trees…so we’re at that point now!!!
These are breathtaking! I’ve been thinking about paths lately but pathless sounds like the best way – especially when you’re surrounded by colors like this!
Sheila….thank you so much. When we first built the house, I intended to make paths in the woods, so I could get into my zen and walk in the peacefulness….well, I never got the paths made because the wild raspberries (more a weed than a fruit) decided they were in control! ouch! π So the woods are pathless. It’s okay!
Your photos are as spectacular as I remember.
BTW, since you have Omaha connections, I thought I’d share with you that I’m moving from California to either Columbus or Norfolk, Nebraska. I’ve accepted a job in that area, so I’ll be about two hours outside of Omaha.
Hey MJ! That is really cool~ congratulations on your new job! Nebraska has so much to offer. It’s the country’s best kept secret! There are some really neat places to visit, and I love the changes in topography as you drive across the state.
We are headed to Omaha for our annual Turkey Day visit with the kids…and looking forward to it. Omaha is awesome!
Thanks for your kind comments. Keep me posted on your move!
Will do, Judy. Looks like we won’t be there until December. Hope your Thanksgiving was a great one.
It was mj. The weather was grand and there’s so much to see! You’ll love it! Thanks for stopping by.
what wonderful captures! thank you for sharing them with us!
Thank you, Julianne! I appreciate your kind comments…and thanks for visiting! Do come back!
These photos are really striking–the color is incredible!
Thank you, Naomi! I needed no color correction…this was it! π
Gorgeous! Autumn is pretty much the only time I miss the midwest, but then the pangs are strong. But this year we had the most colorful autumn I can recall since I came to Seattle thirty years ago, and I have been wandering around enjoying with a silly grin on my face.
Wonderful! Autumn is such a wonderful season. (it helps me get over the “loss” of summer weather!) So glad you had a great fall. Ours seemed very fast this year.
I absolutely LOVE autumn, and these pictures are priceless… I nominated you for the Inspiring Blogger Award, and you can check it out on the enclosed address. Thank you for pouring your heart out, and sharing your stories. http://pregoandtheloon.wordpress.com/2012/11/15/inspiring-blogger-award/
pregoandtheloon…thank you so much! I am honored and humbled to be named with such a wonderful group of bloggers. But I’m also happy to spread the word about domestic violence. I’ve spoken about abuse against Ethiopian female housekeepers and violence before. I believe much needs to be said. I’m honored to have the opportunity.
Thank you for your kind comments on my photos, too!
Picture perfect. Love how the yellow leaves glowed like the golden sun. Beautiful my friend. A place I wish to get lost to find myself all over again. Thanks.
You are so kind….thanks, IT. The leaves are gone now, except for a few hanging on for dear life. I just got a “new” for me….macro lens of a better quality, my son was ready to sell from his collection. And it is amazing. Will post photos soon. (I ran around the yard in 19 degrees F yesterday snapping macro shots!!!)
And with surroundings like that it would be no surprise if you loved nature more π Gorgeous photos!
Thank you Madhu! I loved Byron’s poem…but I have to admit I’m a people person first! π lol
i so love the colors π
kz…thank you so much! I’m with you! Love the colors…and it helps with the depression over the loss of summer! π
Sigh inducing photos! π
Love the way you put that! Fall is truly full of “sigh” inducing sights! Thanks so much!
Those are stunning autumnal photos – really beautiful π
Carol.
Thank you, Carol! I appreciate your kind comments! Thanks for visiting!
Lovely photos.
I am using USB Wireless Internet Stick until December Sunday the 9th, 2012. Reason to it is that we sold our old home after living there 19 years and now we are living in a temporary home before moving to our new home. The connection is not working perfectly and the connection goes off from time to time. I hope that You understand why comments are short until that day I mentioned above. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Absolutely, Sartenada. I understand. From time to time, we’ve had problems with internet connections, too! The internet can be wonderful and it can be a headache!! Good luck. I’ll look forward to Dec. 9th, as I’m sure you will too!
Always love your very interesting posts! We just got back from Italy and loved it. It was my second trip, my husband’s first. I could go back in a minute, but there’s so much more to see in the world….like Finland! π

Judy, I had wanted to look at this post for two weeks now but couldn’t find time. This time of year is so busy with all the Christmas decorations.
These two photos are very beautiful. The colours in the second one are so vivid, it’s really an awesome photo !
Have a nice week !
Thank you, Jocelyne. I can’t believe it’s been a month since I posted. I wasn’t feeling well for a couple of weeks. Then I went to NYC with some girlfriends and the holidays just caught up with me! I’m so far behind! Have a wonderful holiday!
You went to NYC ? Oh ! how I envy you ! It must be so beautiful during the holidays !
Merry Christmas to you and your family !
Yes! Just last week with the girls! It was beautiful. Can you believe I was born in New York state, and never visited the City? π It was my first time and I fell in love with it! Merry Christmas to you both, also!
Beautiful Photos π
Thank you very much Damien!
