Snow!

Snow. Snowstorms. Snowflakes. Winter.

Well, it IS that time of year in Michigan.  And it IS much better than looking at brown leaves, brown and gray tree trunks, brown weeds in the woods, and dormant grass.  It also means that skis and snowshoes can come out of their hiding places soon!

So LET IT SNOW!

Like hands reaching toward the sky, viburnum leaves cradle snowflakes within.

Like hands reaching toward the sky, viburnum leaves catch snowflakes within their outstretched foliage.

The porcupine grass becomes heavy with its headdress of snow.

I love to photograph porcupine grass during every season, but wind is the “grass” photographer’s enemy!  The wind during the snowstorm played with the “porkies”, making it difficult to capture a clear shot!  *click for larger image*

Happy New Year everyone! May you be Blessed with good heath and happiness!

Love to all~

Judy

  1. Nice shots Judy. If you’re getting snow now. It will not be long before it reaches here.
Best wishes, good health and happiness, to you and your family for 2013

    • Hi Sheila! Thank you! I love the “porkies” in every season, too! We haven’t had too much snow, since the first blast of 4″ in December. I wish we’d get ‘big snow’ like in the old days! Happy 2013 to you also!

  2. Hey Judy ! How are you ? 🙂
I love love LOVE your first photo ! I love the bokeh and the snowflakes falling, it’s such a unique photo. Your porcupine grass is really beautiful, what a majestic plant !
    Have a nice week !

    • Hi Jocelyne! Thank you! I’m fine….just extraordinarily busy! I’m taking a class from Kim Klassen and just started a new blog for assignments, but in doing that I messed up royally and was unable to access this blog! Now I can get in this one, but can’t get into the new blog! Ack! 😉 Hope all is well with you! Love your FB photos!

      • Oh no ! I hope you can solve the problem Judy. Have you tried WordPress forum, maybe someone could help you there. It is so strange you can’t access both blogs. When everything is fine send me the link to your new blog, I want to see your assignments, I’m interested in seeing them ! It’s great you started a class with Kim Klassen, it must be so fun and interesting. Bye Judy, and good luck with your blogs !

      • Hi Jocelyne….yes! I got the blogs separated, and I have access to both now. Whew! They’re not linked with the same username, but that’s okay, as long as I can get into both of them! I have to log out of one to get into the other, but that’s not a problem. My new blog is http://dancingwithlightandshadow.wordpress.com The class is called Beyond Layers. Thank you!

    • Thanks for your comments!! Good to hear from you! We just went through 55 degree weather and two solid days of rain….now tonight it’s dropping to 19 with snow on the way! Yikes! 😉

I'd love to hear from you~
