    • Hi Margie. We had tremendous fog yesterday, very thick and heavy…(Friday). Schools were delayed, I was out taking photos. 😉 Today we didn’t have any. That’s strange, isn’t it? Yesterday my daughter said Grand Haven was very foggy too, and they had school delays.
      Thanks for your comment!

  1. Nice capture Judy. It has a “creepy” feel to it. Reminds me of a film called “the fog”which spooked me, or in Scottich vernacular “gied me the wullies”

    • Thank you, David! I didn’t think about that, but you’re right, it does look that way! BTW…congrats on winning the January MCS! Your photo is awesome.

  2. I have never been successful at taking fog pictures, at least none that I liked, until yesterday. That’s after 45 years of photography. I got yesterday’s picture after messing with the default Standard picture settings on my Canon 550D. I’m so much happier now. 🙂

    • I’ll have to come see it. I’ve tried many times and it just doesn’t turn out. This time in New Orleans…it was super foggy and the boat was appearing and disappearing. It had nothing to do with skill! lol

      • I have lots of relatives in New Orleans, and since I used to live in College Station and Houston, I’ve been to New Orleans hundreds of times. I’ve experienced that Mississippi river fog.

      • ok….it was new to me. We went two years in a row for church mission trips to help rebuild from Katrina. Those were my first times there. Great city…loved it.

      • All of my family members there suffered in Katrina. My sister (Chalmette), niece (University of New Orleans), and nephew (Slidell) all had their homes totally destroyed. Another sister also in Slidell had four feet of water in her home; it’s the only home left standing in her subdivision. Mom evacuated to Utah to her oldest brother’s place and never went back.

      • Wow. That is amazing. I’m so sorry for your family members. I cannot even imagine how horrific it must have been. To see the destruction even after 5 and 6 years is just incredibly sad. I hope everyone has resettled now. So many people still need help, but the Congregational Church and other churches have run out of funding. The last time we were there (Jan. 2011) people told us the churches were the only ones still helping. So sad.

I'd love to hear from you~
