Two posts with one image! The theme for the Weekly Photo Challenge is “Near and Far”. Jake’s Water Dragon Sunday Post theme is: “Morning”. Today I decided to combine them.
This photo made me think of what mist on the moor might look like in Scotland or Ireland.

This photo was taken from our hotel in Mackinaw City, looking across a bay and into the Straits of Mackinac. Mackinac Island is to the left of the photo and a 20 minute ride by ferry.
Mackinaw City is located at the south end of the Mackinac Bridge, at the northern tip of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula. (see my post from last week). Despite the different spellings, both names (Mackinaw & Mackinac) are pronounced the same: “mack-in-aw”.

Nice tranquil shot Judy. Morning images do tend convey a great sense of peace and quiet and the light is often better than any other time of day.
I used to love Cornish pasties. A number of years ago, I use to visit south west England, “home” of the Cornish pasty on a regular basis and often ate “original” Cornish Pasties and drank the local cider. The pasties were the size of a dinner plate. A superb combination.
Oh yum! I love pasties. My mouth is watering just reading your comment! I wonder if they differ from the ones here? I suppose they are about the same: a meal in a crust, but the size of a dinner plate? Wow! Thanks, Jim!

Thank you, Island Traveler! I hope you do get a chance to visit! We were “Up North” in Traverse City, MI…another beautiful area in our state, this weekend. It’s on Lake Michigan in the lower peninsula. My husband grew up there. I may be able to post some photos someday! Now I need to get busy with your “Discovery” theme…and boy, am I behind in challenges this week!!! 😉
