My daughter and I went to Paris in the summer. We were there for two weeks and had a blast. We loved everything about the city.
Yes, it was warm, and we were living on the hotel’s fourth floor with no air conditioning, but we did have a fan and a window with wide sashes we could throw open to the breeze. We were in the 7th arrondissement, only two blocks from the Eiffel Tower. We walked everywhere, but most evenings we walked to the Eiffel Tower, along the Champs de Mars and waited for the tower to offer us its display of lights. We particularly enjoyed watching the lights while eating ice cream cones, as there was a stand nearby!
My daughter takes after her father and figured out the Metro system right off the bat. I tackled the language, although it had been many many years since I’d used it. Most shop owners seemed to appreciate our attempts at French, and then they’d lapse into English for the rest of the conversation!! Tonight I’ll post photos of the Rue Cler….the market street where we ate a wonderful breakfast of crêpes every morning, and browsed the colorful fruits and vegetables on display. I’ll also post two photos of the Eiffel Tower and one of Luxembourg Gardens. Enjoy~
