The Canadian Rockies Rock!

Nestled in a valley in the Canadian Rockies, surrounded by ten towering peaks lies Moraine Lake.   Crystal clear, blue-green water, trails, and spectacular glaciers beckons one to hike, canoe, kayak, picnic, take photos or just sit and soak up the beauty.  Circling Moraine Lake is the Valley of the Ten Peaks, including Mt. Temple, the third tallest peak in the Canadian Rockies at 11,500 feet.

Pine and larch trees predominately decorate the  slopes on the north elevation,  where Mt. Temple sits; whereas less foliage resides on the craggy, glacier covered slopes on the south-eastern side of the lake.

There is something  extraordinary about this lake and the mountains.  There’s an emotional pull, a feeling  I have when I visit.  When I’m here, I feel protected and peaceful.   I feel spiritual and serene.
