Daisies~ Forever Love

Daisy Time

by Marjorie Pickthall

See, the grass is full of stars,
Fallen in their brightness;
Hearts they have of shining gold,
Rays of shining whiteness.

Buttercups have honeyed hearts,
Bees they love the clover,
But I love the daisies’ dance
All the meadow over.

Blow, O blow, you happy winds,
Singing summer’s praises,
Up the field and down the field
A-dancing with the daisies.

Golden daisy.

Flowers don’t worry about how the’re going to bloom.  They just open up and turn toward the light and that makes them beautiful.  ~Jim Carrey

I dedicate this post to my beautiful friend, who valiantly fought a horribly tough illness for months with an incredible upbeat attitude, but sadly passed away a week ago.   She was elegant and funny, giving and loving, talented and modest, and much more.  I miss her terribly.  My thoughts and prayers are with her family, whose ache is a million times my own.❤

Grace & Peace~

Judy

    • Thank you, Judy. I wanted to post something, but didn’t quite know how to do it…then it came to me. She was so private and modest. I thought this would be appropriate. Beautiful and gracious…two words that describe her well. Thank you.

    • Thank you, zelmare. Very hard I’m finding out. The bright daisy reminds me of how happy and giving she was. Never thought of herself first. Always others.

  1. I’m so sorry for your loss Judy, I offer you my condolences. Like the saying under your photo, she turned toward the light and will watch over her family and friends. I hope you can find peace and comfort with your family.
    Take care

    • Thank you, Jocelyne. I appreciate your sweet words. That was the feeling I was trying to get with the quotes and poem. She was always happy and filled with light and love. She was always giving to others, as flowers do to us. I love what you said that she will watch over her family and friends, turning toward the light. Thank you so much. We have many happy memories as girlfriends. 😉

    • Yes, Karen….you are also one who will miss her. She always made everyone she met, a friend. That was her lovely personality; such a fabulous listener. Thank you for your kind words, dear friend.

    • Yes….it would make her smile, Tess. Even when sick, she always wanted to see my posts. An accomplished photographer, she was always interested in others, and very modest about her own talents. I dearly miss her. Thank you for your caring words.

    • Thank you, Jim. As she said about a month ago: “it will get worse before it gets better.” I can apply that to my grief. We had a lot of laughs as we sipped tea on her porch. Good memories.
